· You can make an infrared distance sensor more immune against ambient light by making it oscillating (turn it on and off in a fast repetition and putting a filter on the reception side. Of course you loose resolution with this modification. You get best results if you use both sensors together.
· Infrared light, which is more accurately called infrared radiation (IR), creates the warmth you feel on your skin on a sunny day. It’s also the basis for thermal imaging cameras, but there are several relatively simple methods you can use to at least partially block this type of IR, if desired.
· I have almost 400mah current apply on side sensors, it’s pretty high for a micromouse with 950nm wavelength IR sensor. 850nm wavelength IR sensor will gives higher power beam but the wavelength is is closer to visible light wavelength then 950nm version. I think the only way to avoid this from happening is not to put the mouse under sun light ...
Scroll down to ‘ - IR filter auto-switch day point’ to see your current values. Set the camera in ‘force night’ in the Setup >Advanced tab of the camera web interface. The camera will go in night mode, regardless the ambient light level. Make sure the IR illuminations is on and is positioned correctly.
· Depending on how much ambient light there is in the room where you set up your project, you may need to adjust this value based on your needs. void loop(){lightValue = analogRead(photoresistorPIN); (“Light value: “); (lightValue); if(lightValue < 50){digitalWrite(redLED, HIGH);} else{digitalWrite(blueLED, HIGH);}
The Infrared sensors work by sending an infrared light with some frequency, and then detecting if some of the light has reflected back to the sensor. The most common ones have a digital output indicating if object has been detected. Many of them have the option to be enabled or disabled. In this Instructable, I will show you how easy it is to connect and use such sensor with Arduino. Some of ...
If you are feeding the signal into a microcontroller, then you could maybe use a calibration routine to adjust for the ambient light. For example if you read the level when nothing is being transmitted, you can subtract this value from the "ON" reading to get the difference caused by your IR emitter. Something like this should help. You could do similar with an LDR in the opamp feedback to adjust the gain, but …

regardless of light source. The strong IR rejection also helps to maintain high accuracy when industrial design calls for mounting the sensor under dark glass for aesthetics. The OPT3004 is designed for systems that create light-based experiences for humans, and is an ideal preferred replacement for photodiodes, photoresistors, or other ambient light sensors with less human eye matching and IR ...
· The human eye does not see infrared light, so the ambient light sensor is specifically designed to remove as much energy in the infrared wavelengths as possible. The proximity sensor operates precisely within the infrared spectrum and whenever it attempts to make a measurement, it is simultaneously sending out infrared light in the hope of bouncing off of a nearby object. This infrared energy could hurt the ambient light sensor…
· Hello, I am new to this forum and arduino. I have been testing with the IR COMPOUND EYE from dagu.. Trying to use it as a range detector.. I am aware that the maximum range is 200mm. But when i compile and run the following code on my arduino UNO.. I get strange readings: void IReye()//===== Read IR compound eye ===== { digitalWrite(IRen,HIGH); // turn on IR LEDs t...

Apr 11, 2010 #1 Hi, I am working on a project that requires IR sensors to detect a line and respond accordingly, I have made the sensor etc, but now want to improve upon it, the one major problem is AMBIENT LIGHT, as the …
An IR Obstacle Sensor works in accordance with the infrared reflection principle to detect obstacles. When there is no object, the infrared receiver receives no signals; when there is an object ahead which blocks and reflects the infrared light, the infrared receiver will receive signals. Components – 1 * SunFounder Uno board – 1 * USB data cable – 1 * Obstacle avoidance sensor module ...

Ambient light, IR and Ultraviolet optical sensors convert their respective light and/or heat inputs into an analog or digital output and are available in a wide variety of surface mount and through hole package types. The wavelength for these sensors range from 290nm to 4000K. 729 Results. Scrolling.
· If your Mac has an ambient light sensor, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display. Then select “Automatically adjust brightness.” If you don’t see the “Automatically adjust brightness” checkbox, you can manually adjust the brightness.
